Val de Sioule

Conservatory for old vine varieties

The Conservatoire will introduce you to the ancient grape varieties once used to make Saint-Pourçain wines.

Free visit all year or guided tour from May to October. Standing on the hillside just beside the castle of Chareil, the conservatory will allow you to discover the old vine varieties used in passed times to make wines of Saint-Pourçain. Its purpose is to show and, if it is possible, to teach skills and techniques relating to the vine lifecycle based on old vine varieties.
